Harvey 19th November 2020

Machutan is a Yiddish word with no English translation, that in this case describes the relationship between me and my son Shawn’s father-in-law, Giris. Through the magic of a fabulous sequence of events, Giris married Narayani, thereby bringing two exceptionally beautiful spirits together. This union brought their incredibly special daughter Amari into the world. To Shawn’s absolute joy, Amari married him and subsequently blessed one and all by giving birth to Kai, “the best grandson in the world” (a view I’m certain Giris shared with me). Giris was unique, sensitive, loving, generous, caring, highly spiritual, smart, happy, reliable, thoughtful, dependable, analytical, accomplished…TRULY! On balance, any faults he may have had were greatly outweighed by pure goodness. Without a doubt he was a unique, extraordinary soul. He impacted so many lives. May his spirit continue to nurture and guide all those of us he touched so profoundly. With love, Harvey
