I first met Giris in Toronto in 1973 -1974 at the Sivananda yoga center. He was on a frozen orange juice fast. Yes, not a common practice. He showed me his scars where they had operated on his stomach. My first thoughts were that he must be either a Vietnam veteran or a hard living hippy. From that brief encounter, began a lifelong bond that weathered many life storms that only made our friendship deeper, closer and converted me into a most unlikely admirer and defender of his unconventional spirit so full of spontaneity and mystic sensitivity. Thank you for your love and helping me to open up and to forgive. What a great ride it was, with the Stones providing the refrain - “Can’t get no Satisfaction”. May you abide in transcendental satisfaction! Shanmuga/Wes
