From Sunil: GIRIS ji was one person who touched everyone’s heart one way or the other and I am also one of the few lucky ones who happened to get blessed by being around him on certain occasions. But my desires of working under him in business and learning the fine ways of handling different issues could not get fulfilled as God took him away from us on 15th Nov 2020. May be Almighty Supreme needed him for bigger and important projects in the different world. I am Sunil Kumar Dang from Rishikesh and my association with Giris ji started way back in 1984 when he came to India with Swami Vishnudevanand ji who initiated me then at Sivananda Ashram in Nayyer Dam, Kerala. I happened to work with him on few social welfare & upliftment projects given by Shri Swami Vishnudevanand ji in India, such as: - • Dropping leaflets with inspirational messages from Helicopter in all over Mumbai for important Peace Mission among people as there were riots and disturb phase going on in India at that time. • We even met then the Prime Minister of India, Late Rajiv Gandhi ji (Picture enclosed) for development of economically weak people in the rural areas of Southern India. • I was given a task by Swami Vishnu ji of making a human chain on 8th Sept 1987, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Swami Sivananda ji Maharaj and with the help of Giris ji’s advice & guidance, I could bring thirty thousand people out of their houses, work places, schools, colleges, corporates & business houses making a Human Chain and everyone Chanting the powerful OM NAMAH NARAYANAYA Mantra from 10 am to 12 noon for two hours, from the Sivananda Ashram Rishikesh to Har ki Peri at Haridwar. Swami ji even asked us to distribute packed food to all the people and that was a herculean task. Giris ji gave me an important advice of how to do it and with that I could complete this task smoothly. • Giris ji and myself travelled to Sabri Malai Temple in South India in 1985 and that was the unexpected surprise & blessing for me. • Giris ji travelled to Gangotri on his last trip to India with Mr. Roger Bull, Swami Ramchandrananda ji, my brother Mohan ji & myself for an important ritual and last prayers at 10000 feet height by the Mother Ganges for Roger’s wife. He even took the dip in the frozen Ganges river water which only people with great will power can do at freezing temp. We met Swami Premananda ji in Uttarkashi enroute and spent 2 nights there. Giris ji was very happy meeting another great soul and never bothered about 5 star facilities rather he was very content & happy even with basic amenities during this trip. Only thing he asked for was the Wifi connectivity so that he could carry on his work smoothly & his work didn’t get hampered due to his absence physically there. Few of the photographs of the Gangotri Pilgrimage are attached. • We even went to Kunja Devi Temple and Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh. • For last three Navratries Giris ji asked me to do special Devi Puja for all his family members and friends and I did that for consecutive 9 days every Navratri. I even showed him live Puja and Havans during these occasions from the temple. • Giris ji always gave me a Royal Hospitality whenever I visited UK. I never had to bother about any arrangements regarding boarding, lodging or travelling. I don’t have words to express my gratitude for such a Noble Human Being. • During my last visit to London he even introduced me to his professional team in his office mainly Ms. Nicola, Mr. Simon, Mr. Arun & Mr. George and immediately asked Ms. Nicola to add me in their working group. I travelled with him and his able team to two proposed future projects like that of Health Care in Rowley and Development of Gravesend (Kent) Market. He even gave me a work station and told me if ever I immigrate to UK, I have his office available for me. He was really a man with Golden Heart. • Giris ji along with Mr. Simon and Mr. George even visited with me to the Gurudwara Sahib (Sikh Temple) in Gravesend Kent and gave respect to Sikh religion. I have many stories and whatsapp conversations with him and that are my special treasures received from Giris ji. I pray to Almighty God to give him a special place in Heaven and May his Soul Rest in Peace. I also pray to Him for giving strength to the family members & friends to bear this irreparable loss. Giris ji wherever you are Please keep blessing us, guiding us and inspiring us with your unimaginable hard work that you left for everyone. Giris ji you are always in my prayers and I cherish every single minute that I spent with you. Om Shanti
