Richard 22nd November 2020

I met Giris as a young back packer in Sunny London and worked with him on various projects. Seymour street projects, Fortune Green Road, Rose Joan Mews, Islington Green and Almeida amongst other little projects. Giris taught me various things and looked after me in more ways than one, as I did him. He bailed me out of prison, sorted out an issue when I rammed a car into another car, never saying a word later, knowing he was in on the action. That’s what I loved and hated about you Giris. We couldn’t control each other. Both being dyslexic, we often talked about now it’s an advantage not a disadvantage: having the ability to visually look at something and work it out in minutes. It was a pleasure working with you mate and wherever you are, good luck and remember: the body is a vessel, me old mate so have fun in the next chapter. Don’t forget: it’s not the dead you need to worry about it’s whom you left behind. To all who loved the Big Man, please give support to Giris’ lovely wife Narayani and beautiful daughter Amari.
